from the ashes, we rise; through the bones, we endure
FAIRLAWN, VIRGINIA
we're committed to your well-being
At Ember & Bone Counseling, we created this space for those who have felt misunderstood, unseen, or silenced. We believe healing isn’t about erasing your past or becoming someone new—it’s about uncovering the resilience, wisdom, and strength that’s always been within you. Here, your story is honored, your pain has space, and your growth is possible. Together, we’ll walk through the ashes of what you’ve carried and help you rise into a life shaped by authenticity and hope.

I see therapy as a place to slow down, breathe, and come back to yourself — the parts of you that have been overlooked, overextended, or just need a little tending. It’s not about fixing, rushing, or performing. It’s about creating space where you can soften into who you already are.
My approach is person-centered, somatic, and steady. I’m not here to lead with a clipboard or give you a script — I show up with curiosity, presence, and a deep respect for the pace your body and nervous system need. Whether we’re working through stress, identity shifts, or the long impact of caregiving or trauma, we’ll do it in a way that feels grounded and manageable.
I’ve spent time working with first responders and others in high-pressure roles, and I know what it’s like to carry more than you let on — to be the one holding it together. You don’t have to do that here.
Some sessions might feel like digging down to the roots. Others might feel like watering something new. Either way, this is your space — slow, honest, and made for growth that doesn’t rush to bloom.

I see therapy as a descent into the places we’re taught to avoid — the grief, the trauma, the shadows that linger when life unravels. Healing isn’t about covering those wounds or rushing past them. It’s about tracing pain to its roots and finding meaning in what feels unbearable.
My approach is psychodynamic and Adlerian at its core, grounded in depth and curiosity. I also weave in DBT, acceptance, and emotional regulation skills so you have tools to hold onto while we sit in the discomfort. The work is both excavation and empowerment — uncovering the story underneath and learning to carry it differently.
With a military background, I understand what it means to fight invisible battles while appearing steady on the outside. That experience fuels my belief that honesty, not perfection, is what transforms us.
I am most at home in the conversations others shy away from: death, loss, trauma, identity, transformation. I welcome the darkness not as an enemy, but as a place where honesty lives. Discomfort isn’t something to fear; it’s where resilience is born.
individual
counselling
If you’ve never been to counseling before, here’s what a session looks like: we’ll meet for about 50 minutes in a space that’s calm, confidential, and yours. In the first few sessions, we’ll talk about what brings you here and what you’d like to work on, but there’s no script or pressure — you set the pace. Some days you may come in with something heavy you need to unload, and other days we may dig deeper into patterns or practice new skills together. You can expect honesty, compassion, and room to be fully yourself — without judgment. Each session is different because each person is different, but the goal is always the same: to help you feel supported, understood, and equipped to move forward.
